Good Friday Morning! Welcome to another week of Simplified Friday’s. It’s hard to believe that this is the last Friday of February. Around here, we still have snow laying on the ground but the promise of spring is not too far behind. Just the other day (before the snow started to fly) I noticed that my daffodil bulbs were pushing through the ground.
But no matter where you are, I have a recipe to share today that can be enjoyed no matter the weather or time of the year.
I love this scrub for a number of different reasons:
- It is inexpensive to make: I used to buy scrubs at the store, and believe me, you can spend a fair penny on them.
- This recipe only takes three ingredients: More than likely you have at least two of these ingredients in your home, and the third is easy to obtain.
- A great and simple project to make with your kids: My girls are teenagers and love these kind of things. It’s easy to make, takes very little time and doesn’t make a big mess (unless you spill the sugar and then maybe 🙂
My friend Heather Baker, shared this recipe with me a few weeks ago. Thanks Heather!
1/2 Cup of White Sugar
2 Tablespoons – Coconut Oil
7-8 Drops Lemon Essential Oil (I get mine here)
Mix Sugar and Coconut Oil together in glass or metal bowl. Once mixed well, add essential oil drops. Mix well again.
Place mixture in glass jar. (The mason jar pictured can usually be found at your local craft store)
This scrub is great to use on hands and/or feet. Apply a small amount to your palm or feet and rub in gently for a few minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel.
Keeping It Simple,
*Note: The shelf life of the scrub should be around 1 year or more
