Work At What You Love – Week #10

Tip 10 w logo

WELCOME!  I am so glad you are here.  Every Wednesday I will be sharing (1) tip to help inspire you to lead a simpler life.  It won’t be anything hard or something I haven’t tried myself.  Living a simple life is a conscious choice made up of small steps every day.  So here is our small step for today.

Week #10 – Work At What You Love

I know that this simple tip is maybe easier said than done.  In this case I’m not talking so much about your day job (though I hope you love what you do) as I am about those things that bring you joy.

For example: Gardening, bike riding, jogging, writing, scrap booking, decorating, photography…the list can go on and on.

So many times we don’t allow enough margin in our lives to actually pursue those things that we love and bring us joy.  Our schedules are full of everything but the things we love, and honestly it’s wearing us out.

For me I love camping, gardening, motorcycles, hiking, snowboarding, reading, writing and spending time with my family. Those are the things that help bring life and joy to my life and I am actively working to create margin in my life for those things.

So what are some things you love? Where do you need to create margin in your life so you can add them in?

Keeping It Simple,

What a great reminder! I love to read and write, and often those two things are pushed to the end of the day, and sometimes they get pushed off the day and I don’t get to them. You are so right – make time for what you love. “Actively pursue” them – I love that!

I loved coming here and seeing this because I just finished writing about taking time to do what your soul loves and our ultimate source of renewal. Thanks for the linkup!

I love to read, but I find it really hard to do anymore because my kids are constantly interrupting and make me lose my place. So I’ve turned to watching TV in my free time instead because I can pause that and easily come back to it. For some reason it’s harder for me to get back into a book when I get pulled out.
