WELCOME! I am so glad you are here. For the next few weeks I will be sharing (1) simple tip to help inspire you to lead a simpler life. It won’t be anything hard or something I haven’t tried myself. Living a simple life is a conscious choice made up of small steps every day. So here is our small step for today.
Tip #3 – Read A Book
See. I just gave you permission to sit down and read a book. Your welcome!
Simplifying life is not just about getting rid of clutter. It’s also about taking time to slow down.
As a kid I would spend hours reading books. It was one of my most delightful experiences as a child. I would stretch out on my bed, lay upside down on the couch or prop my feet up in the tree house with a good book. Sometimes, if I was hiding from my annoying brothers, (because at that age, brothers are always annoying) I would sneak into the hay mow and find a quiet corner deep in the hay. It was also a good place to hid from chores and weed pulling in the garden too.
So this week, the simple tip is to slow down and read a book. Personally, I like a real book where I can feel the paper in my hand and watch the words spill from one page to the other. But however you read, I challenge you to take at least 30 minutes to slow down and bask in the written word.
Right now I am just diving into a great new book that has yet to be released. It’s called “Undone – A story of Making Peace with an Unexpected Life” by Michele Cushatt. It is promising to be a powerful book already – I’ve laughed, cried and underlined – and I’m not even out of chapter one!
So, what are you reading? What kind of book do you like to curl up with?
