Say No – Week #6

Say No Tip w logo

WELCOME!  I am so glad you are here.  Every Wednesday I will be sharing (1) tip to help inspire you to lead a simpler life.  It won’t be anything hard or something I haven’t tried myself.  Living a simple life is a conscious choice made up of small steps every day.  So here is our small step for today.

Tip #6 – Say No

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is say “No” – Especially to good things.  But in our families journey to simplify our life we have found that we sometimes have to say “No” especially to the good things.  Sometimes those things have to do with our schedule, taking on extra responsibility or holding onto something when it really is time to let it go.

No one ever said simplifying life is easy – actually, it has been one of the harder things that we have had to learn to do in this life.  Honestly,  it’s easy to say “No” to the things that are aggravating, annoying or frustrating, it’s those good things that hang us up sometimes.

Are there “good” things in your life that it’s time to let go of?  We all have them, but sometimes it’s means being courageous enough to dig deep in order to see that change happen.

So I challenge you this week to identify one, maybe two things, that need to be simplified.  If you have to, practice saying NO in the mirror a few times, then let brave rise up and say that one simple, but deeply profound, word.

NO!   (And know I will be cheering you on all the way)

Keep It Simple,

This was the perfect read for me, today. I struggle with saying no and feeling like I’ve let people down. But, ultimately, I can’t be a good mom, wife, teacher, etc, if I don’t set healthy boundaries. Thanks for sharing!

You are welcome Kelly. That’s a great way to look at the need to say No – What other things suffer when we don’t. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts with us. ~Victoria
